Communications Manager
Dawn Gorman has more than 30 years combined experience in writing, editing, communications and marketing. She joined the Arts Council in 2013 and is the organization’s chief storyteller. Dawn is a keen researcher, which supports her work in writing grants, newsletters, marketing materials and press releases as well as managing social media and web content. She holds a bachelor's and master's degree in English, as well as a specialization in film from Michigan State University. A great lover of words, she has written for a number of publications, including newspapers, print magazines and digital publications and has worked as a communications specialist in a variety of settings. A devoted Lansingite for more than 35 years, Dawn loves how the arts have added to the diversity and uniqueness of the city’s landscape. She also loves the people and engaging in local festivals and events. Dawn envisions a more compassionate and conscious world where creative self expression is valued and embraced by all.
