A Few Words from Debbie–From the Desk of the Executive Director

A Few Words from DebbieFrom the Desk of the Executive Director

As we continue to outline our new strategic direction for the Arts Council, the board and staff continue to recognize the differing needs of our constituents.  As an arts service organization, we tend to catagorize by the following: some need our services like artists and arts leaders, while others want to support us because they value and appreciate a community that incorporates the art to grow and prosper – like our donors and patrons.

And from the former, there is a very special group of individuals that are generous beyond measure, have gone above and beyond, understand the needs of the Arts Council and know that it takes considerable effort to create a sustainable organization in today’s economic environment.  So, what does this group of individuals have in common?

We are honored that they stepped forward over a year ago and affiliated themselves with the Arts Council’s Grand Society, a unique philanthropic circle welcoming those who value creative expression and artistic diversity in the tri-counties and who are helping build sustainable support for the Arts Council.

Entrance into the Grand Society is reserved for those distinguished and influential individuals who make a $1,000 annual commitment to the Arts Council’s annual giving campaign. These significant contributions provide vital funding, enabling the Arts Council of Greater Lansing to provide grants, education, promotion and services to support, strengthen and promote arts and cultural interests in Greater Lansing.

Of course, we would love to add your name to the list. So whether you are a current member or considering joining, on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, we invite you to join us in fellowship at the unique and renovated home of Jacqueline Drewes in downtown Eaton Rapids for wine, light hors d’oeuvres, entertainment by the MSU Community Music School and lively conversation. Please let me know by email (debbie@www.lansingarts.org) if you are interested in attending this private reception, and we’ll be sure to send out a proper invitation to you.
