Art in the Sky–Billboard Project Up In the Air

Art in the Sky

Billboard Project Up In the Air!

Have you seen them? The Arts Council’s artist billboards have taken to the highways and the airways, and they are truly spectacular! Thanks to a great partnership with Adams Outdoor Advertising, we have once again been afforded the opportunity to work with our region’s artists to present the Art in the Sky Billboard Project, which features selected area artists’ work on billboards in and around Ingham, Eaton and Clinton Counties.

Meet the artists

The official RFP was announced in July 2014, and we received more than 30 high-quality submissions from our individual artist members, which then were viewed and rated by a selection panel of area artists and arts experts. The top six highest rated works were then selected, and we are pleased this year to feature the creative imaginings of the following Arts Council of Greater Lansing artist members: Kate Cosgrove, Jeremy Thompson, Michelle Detering, Joel F. Ellis, Ben Fuhrman and Kim Kauffman.

On the move

The billboards have all been placed outside of Lansing as a means of drawing in tourists and highlighting the Lansing area’s great creative talent. Over the next two years, Adams will move the billboards around the Greater Lansing region as billboard space becomes available, so we can look forward to them popping up all over our region and filling the sky with creativity.More to comeWe invite everyone to visit our website for more information regarding our Billboard Program.
