Meet Michelle
Michelle Detering is a nature-inspired watercolor artist and illustrator from Lansing, Michigan. Her work offers a contemporary take on watercolor that resists the traditional restraints of the medium. Her work emphasizes fluidity and flow, and demonstrates a balance between looseness and control. She strives in her work to simplify the subject matter in order to capture the essence, which, in turn, helps the viewer to see the subject in a new way. She hopes to inspire people through her art to see the magic and beauty in nature. Michelle has created artwork for companies such as Minted, Modales Winery, Andrews McMeel Publishing and Meijer and has received numerous awards for her artwork. She has participated in group and solo shows through the Midwest and is collected by nature enthusiasts worldwide.
