The Arts Council is pleased to present an exhibition by artist Stephanie Joy Hogan. Working primarily with acrylic paint, inks, and paper ephemera Hogan intuitively creates semi-abstract paintings, often including illustrative details inspired by colors and shapes that are developed through layers and layers of experimentation.

The Arts Council is pleased to present this free smARTS website-building workshop to its dues-paying members. Lansing blogger and cartoonist Daniel J. Hogan (danieljhogan.com and clattertron.com) will share steps to easily create an artist website using the content management system, WordPress.

The 15 foot-tall sculpture, called “Portrait of a Dreamer,” is composed entirely of stainless steel and overlooks Museum Drive from Michigan Avenue. “Portrait of a Dreamer” is not just substantial in stature but is also interactive and illuminated. Artist Ivan Iler describes the piece as one that visualizes the flow of ideas transpiring within Lansing’s cultural district.

A series of public meetings will be held to engage the Lansing community in designing a new, permanent outdoor amphitheater at Adado Riverfront Park. Over the course of two days, the core project team and community stakeholders will meet to create design concepts for the proposed stage and surrounding environs.
