Arts Roll Call Episode 31: Tabor Vits Community and Connection Through Dance

Meet Tabor
Tabor Vits, aka TV Breaks, is a teaching artist, bboy (“breakdancer”), and art administrator in Lansing, Michigan. He is an alumnus of MSU’s Residential College in the Arts and Humanities (RCAH) and began teaching in 2014. As an educator, he draws inspiration from his partner Hallie Jo, Paulo Freire, bell hooks, RCAH faculty, and his late father, William “Billy” Vits.

Tabor is best known for his work with All of the Above Hip Hop Academy (AOTA), where he serves as a dance instructor and resource development coordinator. He also hosts Open Sessions at AOTA, a weekly dance practice open to the public, and is one of the founders of Cap City Breaking Jam, an annual dance competition held at the Lansing Shuffle, now in its fourth year.
