The Arts Council of Greater Lansing is pleased to announce its fiscal year 2025 grant recipients for the Greater Lansing Region. Area artists and arts and culture organizations will receive funding totaling $25,500. The funds will be used to engage area youth in the arts and support community-driven placemaking projects.

“Being able to award these grants to our area youth arts organizations and to our artists who are inspired to create projects that include community collaboration is something we look forward to every year,” said Meghan Martin, Arts Council executive director. “We are so proud and grateful as an arts organization to have the resources that support our members in their creative work and endeavors.”

This year, the Arts Council awarded their Young Creatives Grants, which are funded by the Arts Council’s Arts Advancement Endowment Fund and Michigan State University Federal Credit Union. These grants provide dollars and scholarships to area member organizations in the region that are providing youth arts programming.

Additionally, the Council awarded their Artist in the Community Grants, which support member artists in creating community-driven placemaking projects that capitalize on greater Lansing’s assets, inspiration and potential and contribute to building a “sense of place” for residents, businesses and visitors. These grants are funded through their Arts Advancement Endowment funds and through a PNC Bank grant. The grants assist grantees in covering costs for projects, supplies and youth programming.

Grants were awarded through each of the following programs:
• Artist in the Community funding for FY2025 totaling $18,000 Artist, Christina Cronauer; Teacher, Jarrad Henderson; Artist, Theresa Rosado; Dance Artist, Tabor Vits; Poet, Masaki Takahashi

• Young Creatives Grant funding for FY2025 totaling $7,500 was awarded to the following recipients: Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center, Lansing Symphony Orchestra, MSU Community Music School, REACH Studio Art Center and Red Cedar Writing Project.

“Our creatives and arts and cultural organizations devote a lot of time to applying for these very competitive grant programs,” Martin said. “We are extremely proud of all of them for their commitment to the arts in our region, and we congratulate them all.”
