Arts Council Announces Move From Old Town Lansing
New East Lansing Location Provides Opportunities for Regional Connection

Lansing, Michigan—The Arts Council of Greater Lansing recently announced that it is moving its office from Old Town Lansing to the new Coworkerie at the Michigan State Federal Credit Union building in downtown East Lansing.

The Arts Council first took up residence at its Turner St. office in 2009. Since then, they have been serving the tri-county region’s community of artists and arts organizations, providing programming to the area that includes arts advocacy, granting, consultations, arts education, public art, creative placemaking, and more.

“We are very excited about this next step for our organization,” said Arts Council executive director, Meghan Martin. “This move to the Coworkerie eliminates tasks involved with managing a physical space and allows us to focus on our programming and funding work. The Arts Council serves Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton counties, and we will continue to do that in our new space, creating more collaborations, and getting to know our artists and arts organizations better,” Martin said.

This year, the Arts Council is celebrating 60 years of supporting arts and culture in Greater Lansing, and it is excited to turn a new page with its relocation to East Lansing. The move aligns with the council’s preparation to adopt its new strategic plan, which focuses on creating new partnerships, building relationships, and meeting community needs as funders, advocates, supporters, and consultants.

“We are so pleased that the Arts Council will join us in the Coworkerie,” said MSUFCU CEO, April Clobes. “We have partnered with them to support arts and culture in our region through many programs over the years, and they will be an excellent addition and good neighbors in that space. We welcome them to East Lansing and MSUFCU,” Clobes said.

The Arts Council will officially be at their new address, 311 Abbot Rd. Suite 301, beginning April 1, 2025, and will join fellow arts and cultural organization, the MSU Museum, who are located on the sixth floor of the building.
