ABOUT SHARI MERTEN
Shari’s varied professional experiences include positions in arts, history, education and community engagement. Prior to joining the Art Council’s AmeriCorps position in September 2024, Shari was the Learning and Engagement Coordinator at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, New York. There she ran a number of community programs including summer camps and workshops with local artists. In both her professional and personal life, Shari has always sought to break down barriers of access to ensure that everyone feels like they belong and have a voice in the art community, which is why Shari is super stoked to be helping art communities thrive with the Art Council of Greater Lansing. When she is not working, you can find her exploring Lansing’s amazing natural spaces or at home snuggling with her cat.
