Join the Circle of Giving–A Letter From the Arts Council of Greater Lansing’s Executive Director and Board President

Dear Friends of the Arts Council,

We are fortunate to live and work in a community that is home to some of the most creative and dedicated artists and arts organizations in Michigan. Every day they passionately pursue their individual and collective interests in music, visual art, theatre, dance and literature.  For 52 years, the Arts Council has supported that passion and dedication, providing them a broad range of programs, resources and services in our region.

As a result of our collective work, 2017 has brimmed with achievements, including granting of nearly $300,000 to area artists and arts organizations, generating more than 50 local creative projects (including the first City of Lansing Arts Impact Project, “Portrait of a Dreamer,” on Museum Drive); major growth of our Artist-in-Residence Program, which placed ten teaching artists in 47 classrooms of our area’s public schools; an exciting new website, that reflects the vibrant and creative community we serve; and promotion of more than 200 artists in the region through Arts Night Out, Art in the Sky and other programs. We also hosted our first Creative Exchange, held our third annual Creative Placemaking Summit, facilitated hundreds of successful collaborations and substantially grew our advocacy efforts.

Together, we have accomplished so much and without you, we could not affect the change we do. Your support of our growing arts community is essential and today, we ask you to join, with 100% of the Arts Council board members, in our “Circle of Giving” by making an annual contribution to continue and strengthen our work. The more our community grows, the more effectively we can increase our influence and our resources, allowing us to continue to place the arts at the forefront in our region.

You can go directly to the website and donate on the secure on-line giving platform right now by clicking here.

We know you will agree that our lives continue to be enriched by our extraordinarily creative community. Thank you so much for your consideration.
