Does the idea of digging through scrap piles or old homes to find art supplies set your creative soul a burning? Are you a lover of repurposed art? Would you like to be part of a movement that is supporting artists and creating opportunities in Lansing?
Then Salvage Summit IV is the summit for you. Marking the fourth gathering of area leaders dedicated to preserving Lansing’s history, the summit’s goal is to create a viable and successful repurposing industry within the city, and they want to hear ideas and thoughts from the creative community.

The event kicks off Friday, May 9, 2014, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the Allen Neighborhood Center on 1619 E. Kalamazoo St. in Lansing where the exploration and the conversation begins. Hear from experts who have been working behind the scenes to find solutions to the repurposing question and keep demolition materials from ending up in the landfills.
Featuring Meegan Czop, Rebuilding Exchange (Chicago)
With more than 13-years’ experience in the field, Rebuilding Exchange Business Development director Meegan Czop has helped build a social enterprise worth $2 million in revenue in the past five years. Meegan acts as an advocate for sourcing materials to the art and design community, community gardens, and nonprofits, and she is excited to share her experience and knowledge with Lansing area artists and the creative sector.
