Arts Council Introduces 2019-2021 Strategic Plan

The Arts Council of Greater Lansing is pleased to announce the release of its 2019-2021 Strategic Plan. With close to 55 years of success as Greater Lansing’s arts council, planning is something we take very seriously, as it helps us determine where we have been and locate where we need to go.

A year in the making
Our strategic plan serves as our guiding light as we do the work to support, strengthen and promote arts, culture and creativity in the Capital region.
A year in the making, our 2019-2021 Strategic Plan reflects the work conducted by the Arts Council board of directors and staff and includes information gleaned from 2018 member-survey results, interviews with Capital region key leadership and the Arts Council’s day-long board/staff retreat.

Building relationships
This new three-year plan centers on deeper more targeted goals, helping us expand our reach into our diverse communities to build new relationships and strengthen our collaborations and partnerships. It will lead us toward creating more opportunities, ones that increase funding sources and grow more resources for our leaders, our artists and our arts organizations.

Strategic and ongoing
You will see that we have identified seven strategic priorities and five ongoing program and service areas. We have also incorporated goals from  “Creative 517”  The Greater Lansing Cultural Economic Development Plan to create a solid road map for the future of our region.

Establishing identity
The Arts Council’s Strategic Plan stems from our strong belief in our region. We know how great it is, and we want others to know as well. We want to draw more artists, visitors and potential residents to our region and establish its identity as an exciting and popular destination for the arts in Mid-Michigan.

Taking part
We encourage you to download a copy of the plan and spend some time with it so that you can embrace it and perhaps find your own ways participate in its success.
